Magnality Monday – Gifts Galore

Magnality Monday is happening this Tuesday cause stuff happened yesterday which was unexpected. Anyhow I fetched my parents from the airport at 11:20. They spent a week in Hong Kong then moved along to Taiwan where my biggest brother Peter lives. They had a fantastic week  with him and his two children. When we arrived home first things first lots and lots of gift for me.  Tiny teapot from the in laws, lovely cow cell phone charm from Peter, beads, bags, clothes, scarfs and other stuff from my parents. Far too much to take in all at once. Today I made two necklaces with the beads ( below one made with blue coconut beads and a gold/blue fish keyring) and I am wearing the pants they bought me.

Farrago Friday – Jar Labels

This week has been about organizing my stuff. I decided to get clear glass jars and put labels on them. I looked on the internet for inspiration and found some interesting ideas. The one I used puts what I love onto the jars. I love words/writing. I have  hair clip and t shirts with writing pattern on.  I started making jar labels with the word on it eg charity then I wrote the definition of it under the word. The hardest part is getting the right jars. I looked in my moms glass recycling and found a few and then resorted to looking in the recycling at the pavillion. Still need a lot more.

The first lot of jars were used for my saving etc jars. Be Blessed sells items for CHOC so that jars name is charity. The car jar is a collection for money to wrap my car in black and pink. The church jar is for church collection, I earn money at arb times and instead of getting at arb times I now can collect money till I got a good amount of money. Lastly I’m saving for a new cell phone so hence the cell phone jar.

In my crafty room/boyfriends sleeping place/computer room I have started making jars for all the different button colours. At the moment I only have white, blue and pink.

Wight Wednesday – Keeping Your Word

Most of us will know this feeling. You start reading a daily devotion (eg bible in 365 days) and well it actually takes more like 2 years or worse never even gets finished. At my church our pastor Martin Mcrory has written “Mouth Wash – 30 days to taming the tongue”. I thought great this is for me, maybe it will teach me to improve how I speak to people. It has taken me probably 1 1/2 weeks to be on devotion number 3. This one when I read it I was like woah.

Psalm 15:4 says “…who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind…”

Psalm 110:4 says “The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind…”

Keeping your promises is very important. It makes people want to be your friend and makes them want to make an effort to do things with you and they will be able to rely on you more. People around you will enjoy you more and will be able to trust you.

Luke 16:10 says “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”

Martin says “A man/woman is as good as their word. You should endevour from here-on-out to fulfill your undertakings no matter how you’re feeling, no matter how difficult, no matter what the weather. Your character will strengthen when you push thru obstacles. Always keep your promises come-what-may!”

No matter what the weather or how you feeling, eish that’s a tough one.

Every mon, wed, fri at 8:30 my mom goes to exercise class and she drops me at the gym on her way. Often weather or laziness gets the better of us. Now if one of us does not want to go then neither of us go. We motivate each other to go. Now I figured this would be a great time to practice what I have learnt. If I do it right my mom should never miss a class.

Remember God promised never to flood the earth again and he has stuck to His promise.

So all in all try to keep your word, be it big (getting a pet for your child) or small (like gym class with mom).

South African Colours

This week I have decided to show you all this lovely South African ribbon I found. I thought that it would go great in my collection of hair clips. Looked at all my hair clips and realized I did not have a cross one any where. So that is how I came up with the idea of a cross South African hair clip.

The necklace I made looks so pretty. I was given a lot of seed beads by a friend which I need to use up. When I was at the bead store the other day I noticed these lovely big black and white beads. With out thinking I bought them and knew I had black beads to go with it. The necklace is one long strand. It has a loop on it and stays in the front as a center piece/clasp. The strand of beads go around your neck and through the loop. It may not look like a great piece of jewelry but when you try it on you will fall in love with it.
